With an honest and accessible approach, Christiane specializes in personal injury cases including car accidents, slip and falls, defective products, medical malpractice cases as well as vaccine injury claims.
“One of the things you will hear from people who have had bad experiences with lawyers is that the lawyer brushed them off or couldn’t be bothered to talk to them,” Christiane says. “That’s not how I work. When I take on a client, it is a real partnership. We are in it together.” She recognizes that she often meets a client at the worst point in his or her life. It is important to her to that she guide a client through an often confusing and frustrating process with insurance companies in order to let her client focus on getting better.
Born in Paris, France, Christiane grew up in just outside New York City. After college and law school in the Philadelphia area, she left the east coast for Anchorage, Alaska. There she focused her legal efforts on litigation related to the 1989 Exxon Valdez oil spill in the Anchorage office of a Washington, D.C.-based international law firm. Christiane then moved to Philadelphia, where she worked for a large law firm specializing in environmental, toxic tort, and insurance coverage litigation. In 2002 she came to Maine and joined a firm specializing in personal injury law. Since that time, Christiane has focused solely and exclusively on representing people injured through no fault of their own. This focus on representing injured people comes after several years where Christiane was on the other side of the table representing the interests of insurance companies. She brings that knowledge and experience to each client whom she represents. Mann Law welcomed her in 2021.
In her spare time, Christiane enjoys exploring the Maine outdoors with her husband, Pieter, and their pack of rescue dogs. She is also an active volunteer with the German Shorthaired Pointer Rescue New England organization.
